Terms of Service

These terms are a contract between you and BaggaDonuts LLC, the company that makes Watchflows. They cover the Watchflows app in both of its editions, the services we run alongside it, and Community Flows. Please read them: they say what you may do with the app, what we promise, and what we do not promise.

1. Who we are, and agreeing to these terms

1.1 The contracting party. "We", "us" and "Watchflows" mean BaggaDonuts LLC, a California limited liability company, 1187 N Willow Ave #103-815, Clovis, CA 93611, United States. Watchflows is our product name. When you buy a license from us, subscribe to Watchflows Cloud, buy Sparks, or use the services described below, BaggaDonuts LLC is the party you are dealing with.

1.2 How you accept. You accept these terms by checking the box on the Welcome screen the first time you run the app, and again when we ask you to accept a changed version. You also accept them when you tick the terms box at checkout. If you do not agree, do not check the box, do not use the app, and, if you bought a license from us, ask for a refund under the refund policy. These terms and the Privacy Policy are available from the app's Help menu and from Settings at any time.

1.3 Age and authority. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to accept these terms. If you accept on behalf of a company or another organization, you confirm you have the authority to bind it, and "you" means that organization.

2. The two editions

Watchflows is sold directly and may also be distributed through Setapp. The two editions run the same app:

The direct edition, downloaded from watchflows.app and licensed by us under section 3, with a 14-day free trial and optional Watchflows Cloud and Sparks.
The Setapp edition, installed through Setapp and licensed to you through your Setapp membership, as described in section 15. It has no trial of its own, no license key, no Watchflows Cloud, no Spark packs and no Community Flows submission. It can sign in to a free Watchflows account for the hosted webhook relay and the one-time grant of free Sparks, as section 15.6 describes. Setapp handles billing, trials and refunds for it.

Everything in these terms applies to both editions unless a section says otherwise.

3. Your license (direct edition)

3.1 Trial. The direct edition runs free for 14 days from the first launch so you can evaluate it fully before buying. When the trial ends the app pauses automation until you activate a license or subscribe to Watchflows Cloud; your flows and data stay on your Mac.

3.2 The one-time license. When you buy a Watchflows license, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to install and run the app on Macs you own or control, for your personal or business use. The license is per individual person. Free updates within the major version (1.x) are included; a later major version (2.x and beyond) may require a separate paid upgrade. The license includes use of the hosted webhook relay described in section 13.2.

3.3 Licenses sold before BaggaDonuts LLC. Licenses sold before these terms took effect were sold by Greg Goforth personally. Those licenses, and the promises that came with them, are honored by BaggaDonuts LLC on the same terms, and from the date you accept this version they are governed by these terms.

3.4 Watchflows Cloud as the license. A Watchflows Cloud subscription bought without a one-time license grants use of the app for as long as the subscription is active, as described in section 14.

4. What you may and may not do with the app

You may:

install the app on as many of your own Macs as you reasonably use;
build, run, modify and share workflows, including distributing .watchflow files you created;
use the app for personal or commercial automation.

You may not:

resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app itself, or make it available to people outside your organization as a service;
share your license key publicly or use one license across multiple unrelated people;
reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, or circumvent its license, trial, entitlement or update mechanisms, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits this despite a contractual restriction, and then only after asking us for the information you need and giving us a reasonable chance to provide it;
remove or alter any proprietary notice in the app;
use the app in any way that section 9 or section 10 prohibits.

5. Updates

The direct edition checks for updates when it launches and offers them to you; you choose whether to install. We may release updates that add, change or remove features. We have no obligation to keep any particular feature, integration or AI provider available, but we will tell you in the release notes when we remove one. The Setapp edition is updated through Setapp.

6. Third-party services your flows use

Workflows can call services you configure: AI providers, webhooks, APIs, email accounts, file storage, Linear, Apple apps and more. Your use of each of those services is governed by that service's own terms and privacy policy, and you are responsible for following them and for any charges they bill you. We are not a party to your relationship with those services, and a change or outage on their side is not a defect in Watchflows.

7. Automation runs unattended: your responsibilities

Watchflows exists to act without you watching. A flow can move, rename, overwrite and delete files, run scripts, send email and messages, post to webhooks and APIs, write to other apps, and act on what an AI model says. Flows run on schedules, on file events and on incoming webhooks, and an outside AI agent you have connected over MCP can run them too. With that power comes the following allocation of responsibility:

You decide what runs. You are responsible for the flows you build, import or install, for the folders and accounts you point them at, and for the agents and senders you allow to trigger them.
Test before you trust. The app offers previews, dry runs, destructive-step confirmations and an import trust gate. Use them. A flow that behaves as configured is not a defect, even when the configuration was a mistake.
Keep backups. Keep current backups of any data a flow can touch. We are not responsible for data a flow modifies or deletes.
Irreversible actions are yours. An email sent, a message posted, a record written to another service or a file removed cannot be undone by us.
Shared and third-party flows. A flow from Community Flows or from anyone else runs with your permissions. Read it before you run it.

8. AI features

8.1 Outputs can be wrong. AI nodes, the Flow Builder, the Agent node, script explanations and every other AI feature generate output with machine-learning models. Output may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased or not unique, and the same input can produce different output on different days. You must review AI output before relying on it. AI output is not legal, medical, financial, tax, safety or other professional advice, and you should not treat it as such.

8.2 Where the models run. Depending on how you configure the app, AI requests go to a model running on your Mac, to a provider you connected with your own account or key, to Watchflows AI (our hosted option, billed in Sparks and served through OpenRouter), or, in the Setapp edition, through Setapp's AI gateway to the model provider you pick there, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or xAI. The Privacy Policy says what each path sends and to whom.

8.3 Providers you bring. When you connect your own provider, you are that provider's customer. Its terms, usage policies and prices apply to every request Watchflows sends on your behalf, and you must follow them.

8.4 Subscription-based providers. The Claude (Subscription) and ChatGPT (Subscription) providers run the Claude Code or Codex command-line tool that you installed and signed in to, under your own consumer plan. Watchflows does not sign you in, does not hold your credentials, and adds no charge. Those plans are governed by Anthropic's and OpenAI's consumer terms, which those companies can change at any time, including by limiting automated or third-party use. It is your responsibility to use these providers in a way your plan allows, and we may remove or disable either provider if its vendor's terms or technical measures require it.

8.5 Models change. Model providers retire, replace and retrain models. We may change which models a hosted option offers, or route a request to a comparable model, without notice.

8.6 Provider terms come first. Every hosted model, whether through Watchflows AI, a provider you bring or the Setapp AI gateway, is subject to that model provider's terms and acceptable-use policy. You agree to follow them. If these terms and a provider's terms conflict about the use of that provider's models, the provider's terms control. Setapp publishes the providers behind its gateway at setapp.com/supported-ai-models; OpenRouter lists the providers behind Watchflows AI at openrouter.ai/models.

8.7 AI acting on your files. The Agent node and some AI nodes can read, write, move and delete files inside the scope you grant them and can run scripts you allow. Section 7 applies to everything an AI feature does.

8.8 Setapp AI+ disclosure. In the Setapp edition, AI requests you route through Setapp AI are sent through Setapp's gateway to third-party model providers and are billed in Setapp AI credits. You must follow those providers' terms, output may be inaccurate, incomplete or non-unique, and output is not professional advice. Setapp is not responsible for the output.

9. AI acceptable use

9.1 You agree not to use any AI feature of Watchflows, with any provider, to:

present AI-generated output as the work of a person, or publish AI-generated text on a matter of public interest without disclosing that it was AI-generated, where the law requires that disclosure;
make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on a person, including about employment, credit, housing, insurance, education, healthcare, immigration or access to essential services, without meaningful human review of each decision;
remove, hide or alter any watermark, provenance signal or other marking that identifies content as AI-generated;
generate content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, sexually exploitative, infringes someone's rights or invades their privacy;
circumvent a model provider's safety measures or usage limits, or extract a model's weights or training data;
build or train a competing model from the output;
operate an AI system that would be prohibited or classified as high-risk under the EU Artificial Intelligence Act, including biometric categorization, emotion recognition in workplaces or schools, social scoring, or predictive policing of individuals;
violate any model provider's acceptable-use policy.

9.2 Sensitive data. Do not send health, biometric, genetic, financial-account, government-identifier or other special-category personal data about yourself or anyone else through Watchflows AI or Setapp AI. If a flow needs to process data like that, use a model that runs on your Mac. You are responsible for the data your flows send to any provider.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the app or our services to:

break any law, or help someone else do so;
monitor, record or collect information about another person without their knowledge and lawful consent, for example by pointing clipboard, screen, window, keystroke or notification triggers at a Mac used by someone else;
send spam, phishing or unsolicited bulk messages, or operate flows that harass or defraud;
create, distribute or run malware, or interfere with any computer or network you are not authorized to use;
abuse the hosted webhook relay, Watchflows AI, Community Flows or any other service we run, including by exceeding the limits in section 13, probing or attacking them, or using them for anything other than running your own Watchflows flows;
circumvent a trial, license, entitlement, Spark balance or rate limit, or claim a free offer more than once;
infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights.

We may suspend or terminate access to our services, revoke a license obtained or used in breach of these terms, and remove Community Flows content, in each case after notice where it is practical to give one.

11. Community Flows

11.1 What it is. Community Flows is a catalog of flows that Watchflows customers have submitted and we have reviewed and published. Browsing and installing from the catalog is available in both editions; submitting requires an activated license in the direct edition.

11.2 What you grant when you submit. So that anyone can use a published flow freely, you dedicate each flow you submit to the public domain under the CC0 1.0 Universal dedication. Where a dedication to the public domain is not effective under your local law, you instead grant us and every user of the catalog a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, copy, modify, distribute and build on the flow for any purpose, and you agree not to assert any moral rights you cannot waive in a way that would prevent that use. Your screen name is published with the flow; you may choose one that does not identify you.

11.3 What you promise about a submission. You confirm that the flow is yours to dedicate, that it contains no one else's confidential information, credentials or copyrighted material you lack the right to share, that it does nothing deceptive or harmful, and that it does not violate section 9 or section 10. Your saved provider keys are never included in a submission, but anything you typed into a node is; remove secrets before you submit.

11.4 Review, publication and removal. Every submission is scanned, reviewed with the help of an AI model and approved by a person before it is published. We may decline, edit the description or category, re-publish or remove any flow at any time, for any reason, and we may block a submitter who breaks these terms. Publication is not an endorsement, and a published flow comes with no warranty from us or from its author. Section 7 applies to every flow you install.

11.5 Takedown requests. If you believe a published flow infringes your copyright or other rights, email support@watchflows.app with the flow's name or link, what you own, why the flow infringes it, your contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is unauthorized. We remove flows that infringe, and we terminate the submission rights of repeat infringers.

11.6 Erasure. You may ask us at any time to remove your screen name and the record of your submissions, as described in the Privacy Policy. Copies of a flow that other people already installed are not affected.

12. Ownership and open source

12.1 Ours. The app, the website, the documentation, the Watchflows name and mark and everything else we make are owned by BaggaDonuts LLC and protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. These terms license the app to you; they do not sell it to you. Flows you build are yours.

12.2 Open source. The app includes open-source components. Their licenses are listed in the app's About window under Acknowledgements, and those licenses govern those components. Nothing in these terms restricts rights those licenses grant you.

12.3 Feedback. If you send us suggestions, you agree we may use them without any obligation to you.

13. Watchflows AI account and the webhook relay

13.1 Watchflows AI account. In either edition you can create a free Watchflows account to use Watchflows AI, our hosted AI, and the hosted webhook relay: you give us an email address and confirm it with a sign-in link or code. There is no password. We use that address to sign you in, to send receipts for anything you buy, and, in the direct edition, to send one reminder before your 14-day trial ends. We do not send marketing email to it. You never need an account to use the app with your own AI providers. A new account may receive a one-time grant of free Sparks (currently 2,000). The grant is limited to once per person and once per Mac; to enforce the per-Mac limit the app sends us a one-way code derived from your Mac's hardware identifier, and the identifier itself never leaves your Mac. Free Sparks have no cash value, cannot be transferred, sold or refunded, expire 30 days after they are granted, and are spent before any other Sparks. We may pause, limit or change the free offer at any time, and may withhold or remove a grant we reasonably believe was obtained by abusing it.

13.2 The hosted webhook relay. The Public Webhook trigger uses a relay we run at hooks.watchflows.app so that services on the internet can reach a flow on your Mac. In the direct edition it is included with a license and with Watchflows Cloud. In the Setapp edition it is included with a free Watchflows account (section 15.6). It comes with these limits, which we may adjust with notice in the release notes:

a delivery is at most about 100 KB of text or 70 KB of binary; larger deliveries are refused;
a delivery your Mac has not collected is refused after 24 hours and deleted within 48;
the relay is for triggering your own flows on your own Macs, not for relaying traffic to other systems or for storing data;
we may throttle or suspend a channel whose volume is far beyond what one person's flows plausibly use, or that is used in breach of section 10, and we will tell you before suspending where that is practical.

The relay forwards deliveries as received and cannot verify who sent them; signature verification happens on your Mac. Senders always receive an acknowledgement, never a response from your flow.

13.3 Availability. We run these services on third-party infrastructure and aim to keep them available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and we may change or discontinue them as described in section 14.7.

14. Watchflows Cloud and Sparks

14.1 What Watchflows Cloud is. Watchflows Cloud is an optional paid subscription in the direct edition, separate from the one-time license. It includes use of the app while you are subscribed, a monthly allowance of Sparks, and the hosted webhook relay. Bringing your own local or third-party model stays free forever under the one-time license; Watchflows Cloud is the only recurring product we sell.

14.2 Plans and prices. Watchflows Cloud costs $12 per month or $132 per year (eleven times the monthly price, one month free) and includes app use, 6,000 Sparks per month, and the relay. Prices exclude any applicable taxes. Cloud Pro and the Owner Bundle are no longer offered; if you subscribed to one before it was retired, it continues on its existing terms until you cancel it or change plans.

14.3 Automatic renewal. Every plan renews automatically, monthly or yearly depending on the plan, at the then-current price for your plan, charged to the payment method on file, until you cancel. You give your separate, express consent to these recurring charges when you tick the consent box at checkout. Before each yearly renewal we email a reminder to the address on your subscription, ahead of the renewal date, so you can cancel first. If we change the price of your plan, we will email you at least 30 days before the first renewal at the new price, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

14.4 Canceling. You can cancel at any time from inside the app, which opens your billing portal through an emailed link, or from any browser at watchflows.app/manage, with no login and no app required. Canceling stops the next renewal. We do not prorate or refund the unused part of the current period: your plan, including its Spark allowance and relay access, stays active through the end of the period you have already paid for, and then does not renew. Refunds are covered in the refund policy.

14.5 Sparks. Sparks are Watchflows app-action credits: a prepaid unit that meters actions that use Watchflows AI. They are a billing credit, not money, a currency or a stored-value instrument, and they carry no cash value except as the refund policy expressly states. Your plan's monthly allowance is use-it-or-lose-it: unused allowance Sparks carry a one-month grace period and then expire. Automatic recharge is off; we will never buy you more Sparks without you asking. Sparks are spent according to the actual cost of the model that does the work, so the number an action uses varies by model and by the size of the job, in this order: free Sparks, then your plan's allowance, then Spark packs. You can buy Spark packs (5,500 Sparks for $5, 12,000 for $10 and 32,500 for $25) as one-time purchases with an account or a one-time license. Pack Sparks do not expire, subject to section 14.7. When your Sparks run out, steps that use Watchflows AI pause and the rest of your flows keep running. Watchflows AI relies on third-party model providers and may occasionally be unavailable or paused; Sparks are not spent while it is paused.

14.6 If a plan lapses. A Watchflows Cloud plan bought without a one-time license is what grants you app use. If it lapses because you cancel or a payment fails, automation pauses: your flows, canvas and configuration are preserved and untouched, but triggers stop firing until you resubscribe. If a renewal payment fails we do not pause anything right away: your card is retried for up to 14 days while your plan keeps working, and access pauses only if payment still has not gone through at the end of that window. If you own a one-time license, your app is never gated this way; only the monthly Sparks stop. Spark packs you bought stay yours.

14.7 If we discontinue Watchflows AI. We intend to run Watchflows AI indefinitely, but we cannot promise a hosted service forever. If we discontinue Watchflows AI or Spark packs, we will give you at least 60 days' notice by email and in the app, and we will refund the unused part of any Spark pack you paid for, pro rata to the Sparks remaining, to your original payment method or by another reasonable means. Free Sparks and allowance Sparks are not refunded. The one-time license and the app itself are unaffected.

15. The Setapp edition

15.1 Your license. If you installed Watchflows through Setapp, your right to use the app comes from your Setapp membership and Setapp's own terms with you. For as long as your membership includes Watchflows, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on the Macs your membership allows. We have authorized Setapp (MacPaw Way Ltd. and its affiliates) to sublicense the app to you on these terms. Sections 3 and 14 do not apply to the Setapp edition.

15.2 Billing, trials and refunds. Setapp bills you, runs any trial, and handles refunds for the Setapp edition. We never charge Setapp members directly for the app, and the Setapp edition offers no in-app purchases.

15.3 Support. We provide support for the Setapp edition at support@watchflows.app. Setapp may also publish that address.

15.4 If Watchflows leaves Setapp. If we or Setapp remove Watchflows from the Setapp catalog, Setapp may continue to make the version you already installed available to you under your membership, and these terms continue to apply to that copy.

15.5 AI in the Setapp edition. The Setapp edition offers Setapp AI, served through Setapp's AI gateway and billed in Setapp AI credits, alongside providers you bring and models on your Mac. Sections 8 and 9 apply, including the Setapp AI+ disclosure in section 8.8.

15.6 The free Watchflows account. The Setapp edition can sign in to a free Watchflows account (section 13.1) so that the Public Webhook trigger can use the hosted relay (section 13.2) and so that Watchflows AI can run on the one-time grant of free Sparks. The account is optional: everything else in the app works without it, and the app never asks you to create one to keep working. It carries no plan and no subscription, and nothing can be bought through it; when the free Sparks are spent or expire, Watchflows AI stops until you choose Setapp AI or a provider you bring. Your Setapp membership remains your license to the app; the account is only an identity for these two services, and we may check it against your Setapp membership. Sections 13 and 14.5 apply to the account and to free Sparks. Sections 14.1 to 14.4 and 14.6 do not apply, and the pro-rata refund in section 14.7 does not apply, because nothing is sold.

15.7 Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Setapp's terms, and if these terms conflict with Setapp's terms about billing, your membership or your relationship with Setapp, Setapp's terms govern that relationship.

16. No warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app, our services and Community Flows are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that the app will meet your requirements, run without interruption or error, be free of harmful components, or that AI output will be accurate. You use the app at your own risk and are responsible for backing up data that flows touch.

17. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: (a) we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost business or business interruption, however caused and under any theory of liability, even if we were advised of the possibility; and (b) our total liability arising out of or relating to the app, our services, Community Flows or these terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the app, Watchflows Cloud and Sparks in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars (US$50). Amounts you paid to Setapp or to any other reseller are not amounts paid to us. These limits apply together and are an essential basis of our bargain. They do not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence or willful misconduct.

18. Your indemnity

You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless BaggaDonuts LLC and its members, managers and contractors, and, for the Setapp edition, Setapp, from any third-party claim, loss, cost or expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of flows you build, import or run; content you submit to Community Flows; your use of any AI provider or model in breach of its terms; your breach of these terms; or your violation of law or of anyone's rights. We will notify you of such a claim and may take over its defense at our own expense; you may not settle a claim that imposes obligations on us without our written consent. This section does not apply to the extent a claim is caused by our own breach of these terms, and it does not apply where the law of your country does not allow a consumer to give such an indemnity.

19. Term and termination

19.1 Term. These terms apply from the moment you accept them until they end under this section.

19.2 By you. You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. Canceling a subscription is covered by section 14.4; the Setapp edition ends with your Setapp membership.

19.3 By us. Your license and access to our services end automatically if you materially breach these terms and, where the breach can be cured, you do not cure it within 14 days after we notify you. On termination you must stop using the app and delete your copies; a perpetual license is not revoked for a breach that is cured.

19.4 Survival. Sections 7, 8, 9, 11.2, 11.3, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19.4, 21, 22 and 23 survive termination, together with any payment obligation that has already accrued.

20. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms when the product or the law changes. For a change that is not material, such as a clarification, a price or feature description, or a change the law requires, we update the "Last updated" date and note it in the release notes. For a material change that affects your rights or obligations, we will show you the new terms in the app and ask you to accept them, at least 14 days before the change takes effect for existing subscribers. You can set that request aside and keep working; we will ask again each time you open the app until you accept, and the version you last accepted continues to govern you until then, except for changes the law requires. If you do not want to accept, you may stop using the app and, for a subscription, cancel before the change takes effect. Changes do not apply retroactively.

21. Governing law and disputes

21.1 Law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

21.2 Talk to us first. Before starting a formal proceeding, email support@watchflows.app with a description of the problem and what you would like us to do, and give us 30 days to try to resolve it. We will do the same before bringing a claim against you.

21.3 Courts. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Fresno County, California, and you and we each consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court instead. Section 22 explains when you may sue where you live instead.

22. Consumer rights we cannot take away

If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia or another place whose law gives you rights that cannot be excluded by contract, nothing in these terms limits those rights, including statutory guarantees, your rights on faulty digital content, your right to withdraw from a purchase, and your right to bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live and under its mandatory consumer law. Where a section of these terms conflicts with such a right, the right prevails and the section applies only to the extent the law allows.

23. General

23.1 Entire agreement. These terms, the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the app and our services, and replace any earlier terms.

23.2 Severability and waiver. If a part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect and the unenforceable part is replaced by an enforceable one that comes as close as possible to its intent. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it.

23.3 Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these terms or your license, except that you may transfer a license to a successor of your business with notice to us. We may assign these terms, including your license and any subscription, to an affiliate or to a successor in a merger, acquisition or sale of substantially all of our assets or of the Watchflows product; we will tell you in the release notes or by email.

23.4 Export and sanctions. You may not use or export the app in violation of United States export laws or sanctions, and you confirm that you are not located in, and are not a national of, a country or on a list that those laws prohibit us from dealing with.

23.5 Notices. We send notices to the email address on your purchase, subscription or account, in the release notes, or in the app. You send notices to the addresses in section 25.

23.6 No third-party beneficiaries except Setapp under sections 15 and 18.

24. Notice to California residents

Under California Civil Code section 1789.3, California residents are entitled to the following notice: the provider of this service is BaggaDonuts LLC, 1187 N Willow Ave #103-815, Clovis, CA 93611, United States. The Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs may be contacted in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, California 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210.
