What's a Spark?

Sparks are Watchflows' hosted-AI unit. Each AI action — building a flow, running an AI node, explaining a script — spends a few Sparks, depending on the model and the size of the job. Every subscription includes a monthly allowance, and Spark packs (from $5, purchased in the app) top you up if you run out. Prefer your own API keys or local models? BYO AI is available on every plan, and Sparks are never required.

No. The $49 one-time purchase is the complete app, forever — bring your own AI keys or local models and never pay again. Subscribing adds the things that need our servers: hosted AI with zero setup, and cloud services like the public webhook relay.

The full app with all current features, all updates released for v1, and the complete node library. AI nodes work with your own providers (bring your own key, or run local models). Cloud services — hosted AI and the public webhook relay — are the subscription's half of the deal.

You keep everything you paid for: the subscription stays active until the end of the period you've paid, then cloud services switch off. Your flows and data never leave your Mac, so nothing is lost. If you own a license, the app keeps working exactly as before. On a Standard or Pro plan the app pauses automation until you resubscribe or buy a license — your flows stay intact. Cancel anytime from the manage page or in the app.

Yes, on every plan. Watchflows supports Ollama (local), LM Studio, Apple Intelligence (on-device), OpenAI, Anthropic, and any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Apple Intelligence is zero-config on Apple-silicon Macs running macOS 26 with Apple Intelligence turned on. If you configure your own provider it always takes priority — Sparks are only spent when hosted AI does the work.

Watchflows uses Sparkle for automatic in-app updates. You'll be notified when a new version is available. All v1.x updates are free for life for license owners, and always included while a subscription is active.

The app has a 14-day free trial, so you can fully evaluate it before buying — because of that, we don't refund the license fee.
