Importing & Exporting
Share flows with others using .watchflow files. Export your automations to back them up or send them to a colleague, and import flows from files to add them to your library.
Exporting a Flow
The quickest way to export a flow is to drag a flow card out of the app window. Watchflows automatically creates a .watchflow file that you can drop onto your desktop, into Finder, or directly into another application like Mail or Messages.
You can also right-click on any flow card and select Share from the context menu. This gives you options to save the file to a specific location or share it through the system share sheet.
Importing a Flow
To import a flow, drag a .watchflow file onto the home page. Watchflows reads the file and presents a confirmation sheet showing the flow's name, description, and a summary of the nodes and triggers it contains.
Review the details in the confirmation sheet and confirm to add the flow to your library. The imported flow appears on your home page ready to be customized or armed.
File Format
The .watchflow file format contains the complete flow definition. This includes all nodes, connections between them, and the full configuration for each node. Everything needed to reconstruct the flow is bundled into a single portable file.
Because the file is self-contained, recipients do not need to configure anything after importing. The flow arrives fully wired and ready to use, with all trigger settings, condition logic, action parameters, and AI prompts intact.
