Folders & Favorites
Organize your flows with folders and quick-access favorites as your collection grows.
Overview
As you build more workflows, the home page can become crowded. Folders and favorites give you two complementary ways to stay organized. Folders let you group related flows together under a named, color-coded container. Favorites pin your most-used flows to the top of the page for instant access.
Both features work in card view and table view, and all organization is purely local to your machine.
Creating Folders
To create a folder, right-click anywhere on the home page background and select New Folder... from the context menu. A dialog appears where you enter a name and pick an accent color.
There are 8 accent colors to choose from:
Once created, the folder appears on the home page as a card with a colored border and a rounded-square icon that visually distinguishes it from flow cards (which use circular icons).
Moving Flows into Folders
In card view, drag a flow card and drop it onto a folder card. The flow card animates into the folder and the folder's count badge updates.
In table view, drag rows between folder sections to move flows. Each folder is displayed as a collapsible section, so you can drag a row from one section to another.
To remove a flow from a folder, drop it on the Ungrouped section. The flow returns to the top-level home page without any folder assignment.
Folder Appearance
Each folder's accent color is visible in several places: a subtle colored border around the card, the tint of the folder icon, and the count badge showing how many flows are inside.
Folder cards use a rounded-square icon to differentiate them from flow cards, which use circular icons. This makes it easy to tell at a glance which cards are folders and which are individual flows.
Managing Folders
Right-click a folder card to access management options:
- Rename — Change the folder's display name.
- Change Color — Opens a row of color swatches to pick a new accent color from the 8 available options.
- Delete Folder — Removes the folder. Any flows inside are moved back to the ungrouped section; they are not deleted.
Favorites
Hover over any flow card to reveal a star icon in the corner. Click it to toggle the flow as a favorite. Favorited flows appear in a pinned Favorites section at the top of the home page, giving you one-click access to the flows you use most often.
In table view, favorited flows display a yellow star next to their name. You can also toggle favorites from the right-click context menu using Add to Favorites or Remove from Favorites.
A flow can be both favorited and inside a folder. The Favorites section acts as a shortcut view — the flow's actual location (folder or ungrouped) is unchanged.
Table View Sections
When the home page is in table view, flows are organized into collapsible sections:
- Favorites — Pinned at the top, contains all favorited flows.
- Folder sections — One section per folder, showing the folder name and accent color.
- Ungrouped — Flows that are not assigned to any folder.
Each section is rendered as its own glass card. You can collapse or expand sections independently, and drag flow rows between sections to reorganize.
Folders are One Level Deep
Watchflows intentionally keeps folder structure flat. There are no nested folders — you cannot place a folder inside another folder. Each flow can belong to at most one folder, or remain ungrouped.
This keeps organization simple and fast. If you need finer grouping, use descriptive folder names and combine folders with favorites to surface your most important flows.
